"Engibear's Dream" Book is now available!

I recently had the pleasure of designing and making a bear for Engineer Andrew King.
Andrew has written a children's book about a bear who is an engineer.
Engibear 1
These little guys are about 5 inches tall and all three have different grins.
Engibear 2
One was made for Andrew, another for his wife, and the third
was for the illustrator Ben Johnston.
Engibear 3

I was commissioned to replicate the bear from
the cover of the book as closely as possible.

Teddy Bear Times October/November 2011
Now that I have my blog working again I will wish to share
with everyone the articles I have been writing for
England's Teddy Bear Times Magazine.
I am so beary pleased to be a feature writer for TBTs,
and it is my aim to promote Australian Bear Artists.
Bears That Care Charity Bear Auction is also a priority
because funds from the artist bears sold in this auction
go to Ovarian Cancer Research.

Keep checking my blog for an update on 2012's

Bear Artists....Hoarders of Supplies....."Just in Case"

"Rabbiting Supplies Away For
A Rainy Day"

I don't think I am on my own {well I hope not} when I admit that I cannot help
myself and buy more and more bear supplies!

This is the "linen cupboard" or at least it was!

Top shelf I have enough mohair to make little bears for another ten years!

Then there is a basket of vintage long pile fabrics.
Then an assortment of vintage mohair and wool for needle felting
{if I ever get back into felting}

And then I have a nice supply of Sassy Fur and wool felts all nicely dyed .

The bottom shelf is where the "why the heck did I buy that?"
stuff lives.........you don't need to see that shelf....

I also have two chest of drawers full of everything from eyes, to joints,
and ribbons and.....................

WHO ELSE IS A HOARDER AND I  DARE YOU TO SHARE YOURS
I would love to hear what you think about my rabbiting habbit!

Dyeing for "Be My Valentine" on-line Bear Show

I am already in design mode for next years "Be My Valentine" Bear Show.

It runs from 11th February until 13th February 2011.

The best Australian Artists will have their Critters for sale.

To keep in the theme I have been busy dying some different furs.

Of course not all Critters will be red but they will be in the spirit of the
Valentine theme.

So here on a cold and bleak winters day I try to dry my fabrics on the
Hills Hoist.

That is my miniature forest in the back ground were we have possums and owls
feeding at night!
